Scandium-44 cyclotron production

MODULE 4A – ASSIGNMENT 1 Radionuclide production For a selected cyclotron produced radionuclide or group of radionuclides/isotopes, (e.g. copper- 64, fluorine-18, oxygen-15), describe the methods of production that have been described in the literature. Critically evaluate the pros and cons of each method. The report should concentrate on the methods, issues, problems associated primarily with the production of the radionuclide, not the tracers that it will be incorporated into. The two will often be linked however in which case the relevant connection should be addressed. Where possible you should refer to the topics covered in the reactions/cyclotrons lectures. You should cover all aspects of the production as appropriate, e.g. some nuclides may require complex target preparation, others may require complex additional equipment. If in doubt about suitability of topic or what should/shouldnt be included then ask me. All basic data, physical properties etc about the radionuclide, target etc should be included. Some context can be given but keep background on clinical applications to a minimum
