HIV Proposal

1-The goal of this paper will be to develop an anti-AIDS educational program targeted at a specific demographic group. Each of you should identify a demographic group for your target. Ideally, it should be a group that you know well from your own background. or a group that you have focused on in your studies. The people in this group could be tied together by culture, ethnic group, age group, behavior patterns, religious background, etc. You don’t necessarily have to be a member of that group, but you should know something about how they think, what their belief system is, what their sexual value system is, how they interact, and anything else that you think would be relevant. If you want to educate them, you need to understand what kinds of barriers they might be facing in order to change their knowledge, attitude, intention or behavior. You will probably need to do some outside reading to really understand this group. – describe the group and the challenges (1 page). Be sure to provide references and statistics to support your contention that they are in need of a special educational program.2-Select 4 subtopics or principles to include in your proposal. Open the following link: https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC4536982/figure/F1/Since we want our program to hit at multiple levels, you should choose 4 areas/principles to develop. Chapter 9 of the textbook has a list of 7 principles (cognitive, emotional, behavioral, interpersonal, social ecological, structural and scientific). The figure and accompanying article discuss these issues, but their list is a little different from the list in the textbook. You can use one list or the other, but choose 4 principles to focus on. This is where your creative thoughts will be developed. For each of these 4 areas, you will draw on your unique history or extensive knowledge of that demographic group. Give a brief explanation or outline that describes your approach. Explain what novel idea you would try, an idea that perhaps sociologists or other professionals have missed because they are trying too hard to think with their intellectual minds instead of with their gut. Use about a half page to develop each of your 4 ideas. (2 pages).3. Keep it succinct. Remember, you all will need to read each other’s papers. It doesn’t need to be too formal, but write in complete sentences and include enough of a description so people can get a clear idea of what you are thinking.4. Tie it all up into a conclusion (1/2 page).5. Be sure to include citations and footnotes. Do not include a cover page.
