Length: 5 pages of text minimum, double-spaced, any 12-pt font (provided it is easy to read, so not highly stylized), and 1inch margins. Credible journalistic sources include newspapers and magazines with writers that conduct deep investigative journalism, such as: The New York Times, The Washington Post, The New Yorker, The Wall Street Journal, Ms. Magazine, The Atlantic, Scientific American, Time MagazineYou may additionally cite material from credible websites. For this paper you may use either APA (American Psychological Association) or ASA format (American Sociological Association). APA format is more widely known Characteristics of a Strong Paper (rubric used to determine grade): 1. The paper displays an ability to competently frame and conduct secondary library research that is relevant to the subject of the class. (1/3 of grade) 2. The paper is well written, featuring complete sentences and paragraphs, few spelling/grammar errors, good transitions between paragraphs, and an appealing manner of presentation that generates interest. (1/3 of grade) 3. The paper clearly demonstrates a relationship with our course material, especially with the integration of course concepts and theories in meaningful ways. (1/3 of grade) 4. The paper also does not in any way involve plagiarism or academic dishonesty. Such papers will receive a grade of 0 and will be turned over to the Dean of Students Office for judicial review.
