As a starting point, it is imperative that you conduct as assessment of your external operating environment. You have decided that Porters five forces model should guide your external assessment activities. Your initial challenge is convincing your colleagues that Porters model is a relevant starting point for external assessment and strategy development. You are going to create an initial discussion post that addresses the question, why is Porters model an appropriate choice or why do you think Porters model is not an appropriate choice for external assessment activities? In your response focus on the following information (you are encouraged to go beyond the text for information): Evaluate Porters model for completeness and relevance.
