Each student individually will produce a 2500 word essay (references) that focuses on the way public opinion has developed around a particular issue. The essay should fallow a structure that includes, 1- introduction. 2- Literature Review. 3- Issue discussion. 4- conclusion. 5- Bibliography. Students will use a case study, which will pick from the current news media. The essay will be primarily substantiated by scholarly literature in the area, although the students are also allowed to use reports and media material. The essay will provide a comprehensive yet concise insight into the issue. In doing so, Students need to answer why they think this particular topic is a public concern, what has people thought about this issue in recent times and how has effected public opinion and politics in general in certain countries. Among Possible topics: – Gender Issues. – Racism – Social Exclusion and Poverty. – Disability.
