Writing the Essay Essay Prompt: Write an essay comparing or contrasting two types of writing. You can compare or contrast poetry and essays, or fiction and non-fiction, or plays and short stories. There are a number of different types of writing, so you should have no problem selecting two and developing points of comparison for your essay. You will need to do research for this again. You can use books, database articles, or web articles. Make sure the web articles pass the CRAAP test.
