Clearly label each element in parentheses at the end of the element as in the example below: Shocked by the price on the tag (past participial phrase), Rhonda quietly slipped out of the store. 4. Number your sentences. 5. Separate the two matching elements from the other elements by a sub-title. Example: Present particial phrase Sipping tentatively from his mug (present participial phrase), Mark did not want to burn his tongue again. Past particial phrase: Shocked by the price on the tag (past participial phrase), Rhonda quietly slipped out of the store.
