Select two academic journal articles which address the same topic using two different methodologies or methods. For example, one work could be adopting a quantitative methodology, and another a qualitative one. Or one may be based on a quantitative study and the other on mixed methods; or one may be based on data collected with semi-structured interviews, and the other on data collected in the course of participant observation. What is important is that the two pieces of work address the same topic, but with differences in methodology or method. The aim of this review essay is to critically review the research design and methodological strategy adopted in the two pieces of work.
