Prepare a 5-6 page research paper on the topic listed below OR a related topic of your choosing (follow course guidelines, see pages 4-5). If you wish to choose your own topic, please e-mail me to have your topic approved BEFORE you begin research and writing. Relevant information from PPTs, readings/course materials, and additional research should be synthesized and incorporated into your paper.Be sure to cite a minimum of 3 additional references beyond those used for class in your paper. Include a reference list. Your final paper should have a cover page, introduction, body, conclusion, and references page. Topic-What do we know about the outlook by the majority population in the United States (white people) that disability exists and is negative was socially constructed? How does the idea that disability is a social construction change your thinking about disability? How will your knowledge of the social construction of disability impact you as a professional and member of society? Your paper will be graded on the following criteria: Organization/Clarity/Style/Grammar/Spelling/ Professional presentation/Person-first language Content Synthesis and infusion of information from readings, additional research (3 new references), and class discussions I will add the class discussion/relevant information into the paper when it is done
