Address 3 major issues (e.g. receiving facilities, transportation, power, resident safety, resident information, etc.) that a plan to be developed for an ECF should include. Who should be involved in creating this plan and why? Include both ECF and community personnel needed. What are concerns related to the transfer of ECF patients? Be sure to consider the additional information provided above. What items or special assistance/transportation would be required and why? What are considerations for the residents once they arrive at the receiving facilities? Does the ECF maintain care? Why or why not? Nurses may find themselves to be called upon for heroic measures during disasters, which can have personal, professional, physical and ethical impact. As a PHN, you are requested to provide care at a disaster relief facility due to storm flooding. Your own home and family is in danger of being flooded as well.
