In John McWhorters essay, Thick of Tongue, he emphatically asks the question: Using this text as evidence to support your argument, write an argumentative essay in which you discuss exactly what you think this sound is. In creating your arguments, you will necessarily draw upon the ideas of these authors. You must show how you are building upon, altering, or working in opposition to their ideas and definitions through your quotation and analysis of their concepts and evidence. Be sure to discuss your quotations at length. And please have it in one inch page margins.
