ASSIGNMENT INSTRUCTIONS:
1. Select a drug (or class of drugs) that you would like to know more about.
2. Search for peer-reviewed journal articles (minimum 8 and maximum 10) that demonstrate the relationship of your drug of interest to behaviour. See below for description of what constitutes the correct type of article.
3. Write a thesis statement concerning what you have found (as though you were going to write an essay about the drug as it relates to behaviour). Examples of such statements appear below.
4. Write an annotated bibliography of the articles you have found (detailed instructions below). Your
annotations should follow the pattern, QMFS where Q= Main Research Question, M = Methods Summary, F = Main Finding (as it relates to your thesis), and S = Significance of this paper in relation to your thesis.
5. Write an integrated conclusion (about 1 page) explaining the overall results of what you found and what you think is important about the findings. You should also suggest a research direction that would be consistent with your thesis statement.
6. The assignment should contain three headings as follows: Thesis Statement, Annotations, Concluding
Remarks.
7. The length of this assignment will vary depending on the number of papers reported but a good estimate is about 10 pages (excluding title page). Each annotation should be between 150 and 250 words in length, depending on the article. The thesis statement will be take up a few lines and the concluding remarks will be about a page or so long.
