Service-learning is a form of experiential education in which students engage in activities
that address human and community needs together with structured opportunities for
reflection designed to achieve desired learning outcomes.
During the course of the semester, students will have the opportunity to participate in
service-learning; it will be to devote a minimal of (15) hours serving in one of the offered
community agencies. This experience and reflection paper will be worth 20% of your
grade. Student will write a reflection paper about the experience involving a contemporary
issue related to the class. The paper will reflect the experience and the role of federal, state,
and local government dealing with the selected issue. The reflection paper will be about
1500 words (6 pages) in Times New Roman 12 font, and with one-inch margins.
