Pick a current issue in American Federal Government. Examples are the
constitutionality of the NSA spying on the emails and telephone calls of American
citizen, a recent Supreme Court Decision, whether a sitting president may be
indicted, etc.
Length: At least 4 pages (1,000 words) exclusive of references
Sources: At least four (4) scholarly sources. Wikipedia,
Answers.com, encyclopedias, Infobase, your
textbook, and some random dudes website are
examples of things that are not scholarly sources.
Do not use websites. You may use web services, such as
Ebscohost, ProQuest, or JSTOR to access journals and
newspapers, however. (You may consider SCOTUSblog.com
pre-approved.) Do not use your textbook as a source.
Format: MLA format to be used. Papers will be double-spaced in 12
pt font.
