Pharmaceutical Pricing: How Patients and Providers Are Affected

Prepare an annotated bibliography of at least 12 high-quality (peer-reviewed journal articles) sources you think you will use in your final research paper. Two of your 12 references will be Baptist (2014) and Wilkinson (2005). Each annotation of each reference includes these four sections: APA-formatted reference, summary, assessment of article quality, and reflections at this point in the writing process on how you think you will use it in your paper. After the last annotated reference, wrap up with a short synthesis of consistencies and contradictions among your sources. The Baptist and Wilkinson sources are attached. Please annotate and use them as two of the 12 required. The research paper will be about Pharmaceutical Pricing: How Patients and Providers Are Affected. From the outside, and prior to research, it appears that it is very much a capitalist economy in the contemporary world. Despite being on the market for years the prices continue to rise with minimal to no increase in inflation or overhead. Providers have no choice but to write for prescriptions despite their high price. Patients make the decision to either pay the price and cut costs elsewhere or neglect their health thus risking other side effects and co-morbidities. Therefore, pricing is affecting the behavior of both providers and patients. Pharmaceutical companies appear to win either way. I have attached a sample synthesis, summary, and annotated bibliography.
