Methods of Research in Public Health

The term and concept “operationalization” is an important component of finalizing a research question. Often, we think that measuring constructs is straightforward, and for some variables (e.g., age), it can be. For others, however, it can be complex. For this exercise, select any construct of interest (e.g., depression, smoking, obesity) and discuss various approaches to its measurement. Please review the peer-reviewed literature to see how other research studies have operationalized this concept. Remember to be clear and concise in your writing, keeping your text to 300 words or less, and appropriately cite and list any references in APA format.
