Your third assignment is to write a multi-source argumentative research essay on a topic of your choice. Your topic should be new and original, something specifically tailored to your interests, and not something weve read before. Once youve selected a topic, identify the question your research is intended to answer, and make sure this question is suitable for an argumentative, rather than a strictly informative, essay. Is it debatable, in other words? If so, answering this question will be the goal of your research, and the answer you arrive at will be the thesis statement of your essay.
For this assignment, you must make substantive use of 46 credible, up-to-date sources. All must be cited according to MLA guidelines.
