Research Article Critique, Part Two-Due 11/7 Using the research article you selected at the beginning of the semester please answer the following questions in an essay format: 1. What were the units of analysis? Were they appropriate for the research question? 2. Was the study design cross-sectional or longitudinal? Was a sample or the entire population of elements used in the study? 3. What type of sample was selected? 4. Was a probability sampling method used? 5. Did the author(s) think the sample was generally representative of the population from which it was drawn? Do you? 6. How would you evaluate the likely generalizability of the findings of other populations? 7. What were the main findings of the research? 8. Do you feel that these findings are important? 9. Are there any other interpretations possible for the findings? 10. Did the authors discuss any potential weaknesses or drawbacks of their study? 11. What light did the study shed on any social policy questions? Is the article worth reading?
