1. Couples Interview: For this assignment, you will be required to interview two different couples (one married and one cohabitating, one same-sex and one opposite-sex). The purpose of this interview is for you to understand the perspectives of different couples at different life stages or with different challenges. The questions are open but you must ask the same questions of both couples. (Note to writer: Feel free to fabricate the couples you use for this assignment or reference couples you know personally – whatever you do, just be sure these couples have convincing stories and be sure to ask “them” more than what is explicitly required to earn maximum credit) Examples include: How did you meet? How long have you been together and what has it been like? What keeps your relationship healthy/happy? What are your biggest struggles? What are your biggest victories? Based on the interview (including questions you develop) and relevant readings, write a reflective paper not to exceed 1500 words. You should include: A description of a couple model or theory that you are working from Connections between your perceptions of couples and the reality of those perceptions compared to the couples themselves. In addition to course readings (textbook), you must cite at least three additional peer-reviewed journal articles. 250 points.
