Group facilitations are aimed to take the theories, perspectives, and research findings presented in readings and lecture and apply them to real-world context. The goal is for students to enhance critical thinking skills by applying the theoretical and scientific knowledge gained in the course. Each group will turn in the following to the Beachboard course Dropbox by Sunday at 11:59pm (the Sunday before your assigned weeks lecture):
1. Hyperlinks to 4 YouTube clips that highlight the weeks topic in a fun and engaging manner, most likely emphasizing how theories/concepts/research are observed or applied in real-world context. Please note that the maximum time you should have students watch videos is 20 mins, and 10-15 mins is preferred. You can choose clips that are longer, but specifically state what segments of the video students should watch.
2. Come up with 4 engaging and thought-provoking questions you would ask the class if we had an inperson course format (i.e., questions that will elicit good discussion not yes/no questions). I will modify some of these questions for future Mini Writing Exercise questions, quizzes, or short-answer questions on exams.
3. Come up with 10 multiple-choice questions with response choices (dont forget to highlight the correct answer!) from the text and scholarly article readings. The facilitation grade will be based on: 1) how closely the YouTube clips reflect the weeks topic; 2) how engaging the YouTube clips are in terms of applying course knowledge to real-world context; 3) the ability to produce thought-provoking and critical questions on the weeks topic 4) the appropriateness of multiple-choice questions for an exam
