The company is Harvey’s Each group is responsible to identify a business (preferably small, one can pick up an NGO or a government organization also) and familiarize themselves with its key business processes and problems (it could be anonymous/fictitious business). The key idea of this assignment is to get the teams started on their projects. This deliverable also provides the instructor with information on the direction you are taking for your project and opportunity to provide feedback. In the case study, groups will provide relevant details about the business and in the proposal, identify potential business processes and functional areas where they will use the Macros to the improve/automate business processes. As managers, we are often required to work on process improvement projects and which include using macros to organize work, particularly take away repetitive tasks and reduce areas where errors can happen. Before we can work on improving any processes, we need to establish a business case study which is primarily a detailed description and understanding of the company/client undergoing process improvement work. The case study will provides a description of the business/social/government organization you are going to help in your project. How does this organization operates and creates value? Who are the competitors? What is the industry eco-system? Who are the key clients key suppliers, stakeholders for the business? How your work is likely to improves business processes and provides value? The teams will also provide a proposal, which outlines the proposed work. In project management terms the document which provides early project information is also called a “Project Charter.” You can research for definitions and templates of project charter and provide a project charter also in this part. There are enumerable project management resources available on the internet. e.g, A project charter is a central document that defines the fundamental information about a project and is used to authorize it. A charter is not a scope statement. Things can evolve and change at this stage as you learn more about macros. It is a document, which helps the client/sponsor and the project team to communicate and converge towards an agreement and set up the scope of the project. It allows meaningful discussion. The submission should be less than 5 pages single spaced. Any further information if relevant should be provided in Appendix. References provided should use the APA Style.
