General Topic- Mexican repatriation-1930’s Specific Research Question- Why is the Hispanic race the most targeted race in the US, and why do previous and current deportation laws and events affect them and their families? Thesis/ Argument: Recent Trump deportation laws take us back to the Mexican repatriation that took place during the depression period which affected one million Mexicans. It was an event of mass deportation, but was instead referred to as a repatriation. Around 60% of the people sent back held American citizenships, but were of Mexican decent (Gross, 2015). Trump’s deportation laws signal that another mass deportation might take place. This paper will look into why Hispanic race, specifically Mexicans are a huge target when it comes to deportation. It is as if other races never mass immigrated to the US. The paper will also highlight and outline the effects of deportation on Mexican individuals and their families. References: Gross, T. (2015). America’s Forgotten History Of Mexican-American ‘Repatriation’ .This is a short summary of what I want my paper to cover. I want my paper to focus on the current and previous deportation laws and events, how they affect Hispanics and their family (especially Mexicans), and why are Hispanics the most targeted race in the US while many other races have the same percentage of immigrants. I want to mention the Mexican-American Repatriation as the general topic. Please reference the assignment sheet for detailed instructions, and it also includes a short example on the second page to give you an idea of what she wants. You can tweak my research question accordingly. We have to incorporate 3 readings from the book which speaks about race, gender, and class into the essay I will post them. She is asking for 7 academic sources(scholarly journals or books) and 2 relevant news articles. I requested 8 pages for this order, but I will be requesting 2 more, because it is a total of 10 pages. The paper should not be complete, I will leave the conclusion for the last 2 pages, so don’t add it now please. She asked us to us the media bias chart to know whether the source relies more on research or opinion. She wants us to look for sources that have both research and an opinion.I posted the book feel free to use any reading that relates to the topic: Some suggestions are:1.
