Students will propose a Business or Government Ethics topic to research and present in a position paper. The topic should be of interest to student and the research paper should present multiple (at least two) differentiated policy positions, discussing pros and cons drawing upon references used in class, providing a policy recommendation for the organization they choose to present in the paper (the organization can be real or representative). Students are given a wide latitude on the format to present their analysis of the topic, the paper describing the topic and their findings should not exceed ten pages. Professional communication skills are important to business leaders. Communicating factors and potential impacts associated with ethics policy in terms that provide clear guidance to employees is an important part of leadership within the C-Suite. Students papers will be evaluated for the relevance of the material, clarity, completeness of analysis and presentation of their recommended policy position in a manner that compels corporate or agency action.
