This assignment is meant to promote direct observation, application, and reflection of material covered in the course. The student is expected to take the necessary time to look for indications of the phenomenon we have been studying in class. It is expected each student will spend sufficient time with a child to gather the information needed to prepare a final paper and presentation.

1. What stage of personal/social development is the child according to Eriksons theory? Name the stage and give examples to support your conclusion. Comment on possible positive or negative resolutions to earlier stages as well. Also, make observations about the childs self-esteem and self-concept.
2. What stage of moral development is the student in according to Kohlbergs theory? Name the stage and give examples to support your conclusion.
3. What have you observed that might point to the childs learning profile? This discussion might include areas of multiple intelligence strength; general IQ; special education needs; or area of giftedness?
4. What have you observed about strategies that may be helpful for this childs learning needs?
5. Include any other observations or thoughts that you think might be helpful in presenting an understanding of this childs learning profile.
6. Lastly, what key points have you taken from applying course content to this case study observation assignment? Include a reflection on the purpose and value of an applied case study as an assignment.
