Early Childhood, of New Staff-The topic is role modeling in the workplace and you are to write about the importance of role modeling as the supervisor or leader in your organization and why this is important to you, and the organziation as a whole. School Leadership-Complete the workbook page from the state website for Chapter 6- You are thinking about leading professional development and the components that are needed for effective role modeling by you as the instructional leader. There are TWO ways to approach this assignment and I will accept either. You may look at the example in our course too to guide you by a former student. Her choice was to look at FOUR different topics of innovation that she would lead and then she provided a brief description for each. You could also choose ONE topic and then consider the components as the actions needed of your presentation. For example, if you chose just one innovation such as Engaging Students in Inquiry, then your four components could be Pre-planning and you would discuss the purpose for the training or innovation and the preparation you would do to be ready to lead this session, such as all the arrangement details, and your own information gathering and plans of delivery. The second component could be Information Sharing and here you would go into more detail on how you would present the information and education, hand outs, website info, informational emails and attachments to staff to have them read before or during the session. This could be followed by the component of Group Activities and you would explain what the participants of the session would be doing. Finally you could have the component of Follow Through or Next Steps and in this section of the worksheet you would share your future plans on how to ensure that the training or innovation is in action. *Since Chapter 6 is a little more detailed you do not have to compose a separate reflection for this assignment.
