4 – Discuss the causes and conditions contributing to the fact and ferocity of the Great Depression in Canada.
Course description: This course covers the continuing development of the Canadian
economy throughout the twentieth century. Topics include the wheat economy, new technologies and
the continual industrial revolutions, two world wars, the Great Depression, post-war expansion, the role
of the state, modern policy problems, globalization.
