We have discussed how work in modern, capitalist societies has become deskilled, routinized and alienating for most of the population. Discuss one job you have had that was boring, repetitive and unchallenging; and discuss one job you have had (or hope to have) that was (or would be) creative,fulfilling and challenging. For each job, include a description of your job and explain what made the job either satisfying or alienating. Yo basically pick a boring 9-5 type of job and explain why its boring and repetitive. Than pick a job that requires you to make critical decisions. Or your job maybe coming up with creative concepts. Our professor basically want us to explain the two different types of work which is conception and execution work. The people that did execution work tend to have repetitive work or they use their hand to execute work. Conceptual work is people in higher ups making decisions and coming up with creative ideas to improve business or whatnot. I currently work at Zara as sales associate and I plan on being law enforcement in future for crime investigation. Zara is repetitive and being a crime investigator I have analyze situations and crime scenes to eventually catch criminals. Hopefully these help.
