Discuss how it can be done with an entire class and what your plans are to include this in your teaching.

For this assignment, you will compose a 2-3 page, APA-style, paper based on the time you spent building rapport with an identified student during your school-based hours. Here is a suggested outline. Part 1: Describe the student you will be writing about. First name or pseudo name, grade level, age, gender, any information provided by the CCT or that are known to you (family background, mobility if any, school performance, peer relations, areas of strengths and challenges). This paragraph should give the reader an insight into this student. (nothing about your interactions are noted here). *** make sure when you make any judgments about the student, they are substantiated by evidence. Do not diagnose a student unless they already are a student with exceptionalities documented by the school. If you do not feel you have enough information for this paragraph, please go back to the CCT and try to get more information (assure him/her, this is a completely confidential paper). This is your responsibility. Part 2: Describe your interactions with the student in detail, from the first encounter to the last. Discuss what strategies you used to gain trust and build rapport (cite your sources/good idea to check that discussion board for ideas). Describe the reaction from the student and any changes or progress you saw in the students attitude or behavior. Part 3: Evaluate your interactions and non-contingent attention. What went well? What would you change? What would you suggest to his teacher, parents/guardians, etc? Part 4: Reflect on how building student rapport affects classroom management. Discuss how it can be done with an entire class and what your plans are to include this in your teaching. Synthesize (and be sure to cite) related information from Wongs video about positive expectations, where appropriate, throughout the paper.
