Some of you have expressed that you have never written a proposal, and so I have given you a clear outline of exactly what I expect. Best of luck everyone!In order to prepare you for your final policy paper, you will develop a draft introduction, a point-form outline of your main arguments and an annotated bibliography of five academic sources.- Your draft introduction will:- Briefly introduce the issue being analyzed, including some relevant background or context to attract the reader’s attention and setup your analysis.- Outline or ‘road map’ of your main arguments.- Provide a thesis statement that advances an intended policy change or outcome.- Your point form outline will be no more than two pages and include brief review of your main arguments and use in-text citations that link to sources in your annotated bibliography.- Your outline should provide some history to the issue being discussed.- Consider relevant legislation / existing policy directives.- Briefly outline the relevant stakeholders.- Discuss general evaluation outcomes of policy interventions that have be implemented.- Discuss relevant scholarship on the issue — this can include gaps in the literature or identified areas in need of further study.- Describe a proposed policy intervention or plan of action along with intended outcomes — this could resources needed or gaps in existing supports.- Your annotated bibliography will include five academic sources and a 2-3 sentence summary of the source and its relevance to your analysis.- Your annotated bibliography will use APA 6th Edition reference format.- Submit your draft assignment online to Quercus.
