7-8 pages on designing your own prison. There are two components to this assignment: a paper and a visual presentation (either power point or a model.) You may choose security level and gender. You are to examine different correctional philosophies and weigh competing goals and priorities for the different philosophies and explain how they relate to your design and what alternatives you considered but discarded. Approach this paper as if your design were being forwarded to a Corrections Administrator for consideration and approach your presentation as if you are trying to convince me to purchase your prison design.
Your paper should be concise, not more than eight pages of text (not including title page, citations and references.) APA 6th edition. You must have at least eight references (your text book can be one), only two internet sources (NOT Wikipedia nor encyclopedias), and cannot use resources over five years old unless approved by your instructor.
