Designing a Survey or Questionnaire on Prison Reentry

a.Tell in a couple sentences what aspects of the topic interest you, and what concepts come to mind when you think of this topic. i.Find one journal article that touches on any of the concepts you think are important as it relates to your topic. Provide an APA citation at the end of the assignment. b.Does your case study involve more than one case (comparing ends of a spectrum, for instance)? Or is it focused on one event, person, institution, etc? c.Think about how a survey might help you gain information about this topic. i. Tell me who is your target population? In an ideal world, who would you want to hear from? 1.Keep in mind, in a normal case study, you would be collecting an extensive amount of information not just from a survey. ii.In this scenario, would it make more sense to do a questionnaire or an in-depth interview? iii. What method would you use to distribute a survey or interview? 1.What could you do to ensure people respond? d.Assuming you have amazing response rates think of 5 survey questions you would include. If it is a questionnaire, a scale/matrix counts as 1 question (but the extra work will be taken into consideration) i.Before writing the questions, describe what things you need to think about specifically with regards to your survey: 1.How might questions be misunderstood if you are not careful? 2.What assumptions do the questions have to make? 3.Do you need to specify a time? 4.How personal is the wording going to be? ii.Full points on the question portion will be given if your questions meet the following criteria: 1.Response options are mutually exclusive and exhaustive 2.Questions are at the 8th grade reading level 3.Questions are specific, direct, and not multifaceted 4.Questions are unbiased and have no loaded questions
