TJ is a 5 year old little boy. He is in Pre-K and his mom and teacher are trying to get a handle on his constant tantrums. TJ throws tantrums every time he is told no or that he has done something wrong. For instance, TJ snatched a toy from one of his friends and when the teacher tried to correct the behavior by trying to reason with him and explain why it was not ok for him to snatch the toy from his classmate. The mom has taken the child to a therapist and the therapist gave her a checklist to conduct a pre-evaluation as well as share with his teacher so that they can better understand and give an appropriate intervention for the undesirable behavior. The teacher will do an anecdotal to track this behavior. The anecdotal will include the date, time, behavior and consequence. The goal of the intervention is to decrease the number of tantrums. The reward that the mother and therapist came up with is that the mother would take TJ to the zoo at the end of the month if he only had 2 tantrums as oppose to the 5 or 6 that he has per day. ?
