For the purpose of this literature review, you will use the thematic approach. The themes you identified using the Literature Review Summary Sheet become the subtitles for your paper. Upon introducing your topic with a 2 – 3 paragraph introduction, summarize your studies based on the subtopics you outlined. Once all of your studies are summarized, provide a 2 – 3 paragraph summary of the findings. Be sure to identify any overlaps and gaps in research. For example, the topic may be heavily researched using experimental studies but is lacking in qualitative data. This types of information are useful as it sheds light to what types of studies may need to be conducted.
