Assignment Identify a person, place, or thing that represents YOUR America. First, define what “America” means to you. Think about its characteristics. Then, think about a person, place, or thing that exhibits similar characteristics. For example, you might write about how football explains America, how makeup explains America, how working out explains America, or how slot machines explain America. You do not have to use any of these topics; they are only examples. Think allegorically. To organize the essay, divide the person, place, or thing into parts or characteristics. Then, think about how the parts/characteristics relate to each other.
