Topic selection: A policy or a political issue regarding the post Mao politics should be chosen. Examples are: transformation of the Party, the household responsibility system, the development and restriction on the private sector, the state sector of the economy, politics of Xi Jinping, women policies, the open policy (Chinas interactions with foreign countries in economy, education, and immigration), the environmental policy, or another topic or issue of your interest that is relevant to, and originally prepared for, this course on China.
