Biopsychology and Sleep

TWO SEPARATE reviews contained within the SAME document on the topics of BIOPSYCHOLOGY and SLEEP. APA style reference with a summary of the article under each reference. The articles must be RESEARCH articles from PEER-REVIEWED journals and must be at least 2,000 words long. o They cannot come from websites, magazines, or books o When I say they must be research articles, what I mean is they have to be an original study with actual participants this will be described in the method section. Original studies will have a results section as well. o This cannot be a review article (an article that reviews other original studies or topics) and it cannot be a case study (a detailed paper on one person or a small group) SECTIONS OF THE ANNOTATED BIBLIOGRAPHY: a minimum, you have to summarize the main sections of the article use the same orders as in the article itself. You should use these headings: RESEARCH QUESTION o Here, you should state the research questions and explain why it is interesting and state the hypotheses tested METHOD o Here, you should briefly describe the methods o The info in this section includes the design, participants, materials, procedure, what was manipulated (independent variables), what was measured (dependent variables), how the data were analyzed RESULTS o This section should include the results that were related to the main hypotheses. So, you should describe the results and state if they were significant. IMPLICATIONS o You should explain the key implications of the results. Avoid overstating the importance of the findings but you should state what their findings mean in the real world and/or what the implications are for future studies. o Again, the results and your review of the implications/interpretation of those results should relate to the hypotheses o You can also mention if this goes against other things you have read or learned about EVALUATE/REFLECT o Regarding the evaluation this is where you can point out anything that was a flaw of the study, something you thought the researchers should have addressed or didnt address fully. You can also mention things that were strengths of the article (e.g., their methodology, their inclusion of covariates). o Regarding reflection this is where you can state what you liked about the study, what you chose that study to review, and what research-related questions you now have after reading the study. If you were going to do a study on this topic, what question would you want to answer? This is where many research ideas come from! (Make sure you include all sections noted above you can add other sections if applicable to your study)
