HISTORY WEEK LONG PROJECT RULES & POWER POINTS (15% of Final Grade)1. GO WITH FAMILY, FRIENDS OR ANOTHER STUDENT TO A MUSEUM, SITE, OR EXHIBIT THAT HAS US AA HISTORY I ARTIFACTS. (Prof. will discuss choices but you can can suggest your own to Professor Johnson)2. ONCE AT THE HISTORY EXHIBIT CHOSEN YOU NEED TO ANALYZE IT, LEARN IT, TAKE SELFIES, PHOTOS. ETC. IN ORDER TO SELL IT TO AN AMERICAN PUBLIC THAT KNOWS LITTLE ABOUT ACCURATE AFRICAN AMERICAN HISTORY, ART OR ETC. WHY IS THIS HISTORY EXHIBIT IMPORTANT FOR EDUCATION OR ANY PURPOSE FOR THAT MATTER?3. FOR THE CLASS & GRADE YOU HAVE TO PUT TOGETHER SOME TYPE OF POWER POINT PRESENTATION OR SLIDE SHOW OR DEMONSTRATION OR BE CREATIVE TO ANSWER THE ABOVE. ( upload or if file too big email it to the professor) REMEMBER YOU HAVE TO SELL THE ABOVE TO AMERICAN PUBLIC THAT IS LARGELY INDIFFERENT TO ANY ACCURATE INFORMATION ABOUT U.S. HISTORY.4. YOUR HISTORY WEEK LONG PROJECT MUST BE COMPLETED BY Thanksgiving week & YOU MUST PHYSICALLY TRAVEL TO A LOCATION TO GET IT DONE–NO SHORT CUTS & NO EXCEPTIONS.5. Also you will be shown a sample student project in class to help stimulate historical Thought & creativity6. Examples of a project can be to go to the Newark Museum, a local historical site, Brooklyn Museum, African Burial Ground near Wall Street, Philadelphia’s Independence Hall Historical District & Mother Bethel AME Church, SMA African Art museum in Tenafly, Ramapo area African American History, National Museum of African American History and Culture –you can get creative and find your own historical site
