Pages one and two – I will attach 2 lesson plans ( math and language arts lesson) that I taught. Please write reflections on how the lesson went. I need 1 page for each lesson -total 2 pages. Every student mastered Learning Objective with 100% mastery. The lesson was developed as I had planned. All students were cognitively engaged. The students learnt all the contents that I intended for them to learn. Page three – Performance based assessment in early childhood classrooms. Discuss experiences with using a performance based assessment system or such similar assessment system in early childhood classrooms. Performance based assessment is based on informal assessment and evaluation strategies. There are two types of informal assessments: Summative and formative assessments. Summative assessments follow instruction and summarize what happened up to a particular point in time. Data provided by summative assessments can be used to report a childs progress to parents or to develop an educational plan for children. Formative assessments inform teachers how learning is progressing. They provide teachers with the insight into what cognitive systems are used by children to learn new material. Performance based assessments are a combination of the above two assessments. Every assessment requires some sort of performance by the children. Performance assessments may be designed by the teachers or drawn from standardized assessments. They may include spontaneous creative products from children. Teacher-administered performance based assessments measure skill and knowledge as well as the judgment and insights exhibited by children. Performance based assessment has three phases. First, the teacher must frame the problem or task for the child. Next, that framework must be explained and the child motivated to complete the task or project. Finally, the teacher must be able to observe what the child can do without help, and then again with help as needed. Interpreting the work and aligning it to standards is a critical element of this assessment strategy. Please send me a message if you have any questions. Thanks.
