The case study you develop can use the factors suggested in the Sample Case Study Elements. You do not have to represent all the sample elements in your case study, just the ones you see as most significant as they relate to an individuals developmental problem or the focus of the study. Many case studies are performed because an individual has a problem that draws attention to his /her needs such as drug addiction. Then choose a theory studied in class as a framework or grounding for assessing the individual or suggesting intervention strategies. You should carry out an in-depth analysis of a theoretical framework of your choice that has significant applications to adolescent and adult development. For example, you can focus your paper on a theory of personality development such as that of Freud or Erikson or a theory of cognitive development such as Piagets. The choice is yours as I want you to take ownership of this paper and use it to help you further develop the depth of your thinking in a specific area of development that is significant for you and your future work as an educator. The paper should emphasize the strengths of weaknesses of the theory chosen and its applicability for your present or future work as educators.
