After working on the project for your first 2 weeks on the job, you learn of the above situation. What will you do?

Week 3 discussion: You have been asked to manage a market research project for Del Monte Foods; the project has been started by a former employee (who was laid off for an unknown reason) and you must complete the project. The former employee used a list broker to rent an email list of people in the Western United States who are likely to purchase organic prepared foods. The project is at the point where your boss has approved the launch of the survey. You learn that the list broker has made an informal agreement with the former employee (not approved by your boss) to get a copy of your survey, with email contacts attached. The list broker thinks s/he can further sell the list to more specialized companies since s/he really knows the people who are interested in organic prepared foods. FYI, selling under the guise of a survey is illegal in the United States. This means if the list broker sold the newly refined list to a company that is selling organic prepared foods….well, you can figure it out. After working on the project for your first 2 weeks on the job, you learn of the above situation. What will you do? You can not just respond “inform your boss”; prepare a response which includes your recommendation of how, if, or with what company/list to move forward. You can also include a list of questions to ask you boss about the project, e.g. budget, time, etc. Think about ethical considerations, including your own long term reputation. ———————————————————————————- Week 4 discussion: In developing an online survey, how would you determine what types of questions to include? How will you determine who to send the URL to? Or will you use a convenience sample, meaning you sent the URL to all of your email contacts? If you wanted a larger sample size, how could you purchase a sample (check QuestionPro partners or other sources to answer this); Please search the Internet and find out how to purchase a sample; what is the pricing, timing, etc. Name Three market research survey companies that may have samples for purchase.
