1. Focus of the journal:• Reflect on the experience of being a team member or if working individually, working on a community health project2. Reflective Journal Writing Guidelines:• APA format• A minimum of 5 journal articles (peer reviewed)• Minimum of 1 research article• Minimum of 1 article on a similar practice setting• Between 750 and 1000 words• In the journal the student will:• Briefly describe an event/situation from their clinical experience that stands out in their memory. (Introduction)• Identify the trigger event that influenced selection for the journal submission. (Trigger Event)• Use the literature to analyze and explain the meaning of the event/incident. (Appraisal)• Describe what was learned from this experience. (Exploration)• Explore how their practice has been influenced/may change because of what was learned. (Integration)Working in a team with 3 other nurses who go to an elementary school and observe behaviours of the students and interactions and assess the community environment and completion of community health project of teaching grade 6 students about mental health (anxiety, depression, bullying, coping with stress). Team works well together. Communicates via group chat and by online video conference for group meetings.Event that stood out: Observing the children interact with each other, specifically one student who potentially has a developmental delay and a bit of seclusion. Observing the dynamics in the class surrounding “cliques”, specific behaviours related to different activities/subjects in class.Trigger event: Student with potential developmental delay introduced himself during gym class and then introduced himself to another student and the other student stated “I know” in a condescending tone (feeling bad for that student).
