After watching a film about gangs, think about the theories of neighborhood crime we have discussed in class. For this assignment, use two of those theories to explain gang membership and gang violence. Be sure to consider how the theories can and cannot explain gang membership in urban areas such as Los Angeles. Could these theories explain the formation of gangs in non-urban areas, such as Chandler for example?
