You will identify a dataset from the UCI Machine Learning Depositoryi
. It could be any dataset,
however, you are expected to demonstrate the following chapters methods as the application and
discuss your results in a professionally written engineering report.
1- Introduction
2- Chapter 1: Defining and collecting data.
a. Identify the variables, types, etc. and provide in-depth information on them
b. Identify the size of the dataset, any missing values, any outliers, etc.
3- Chapter 2: Organizing and Visualizing Variables:
a. Apply the specific organization and visualization technique to provide effective
understanding about the data
i. Use of contingency tables
ii. Use of graphs
b. Interpret your findings succinctly in your report.
4- Build a research question, explain it, and identify a method to answer the question, and
explain why you picked that method or those methods.
a. Apply at least 1 of the following methods to your dataset which should be linked to
your research question:
1.Confidence intervals
2.Sampling distributions
3.Correlation analysis
4.Regression analysis
5.ANOVA tests
6.Hypothesis testing
*If you use more than 1 method, there will be bonus points.
5- Provide and share your findings in the conclusion section.
6- Prepare a professionally written engineering report.
