Paper: You will write one paper for this class, due December 3rd. You will choose a politically relevant topic, raise a hypothesis and argue in its favor. I will be available, throughout the semester, for consultations on this topic. Please come to meet me or send me an email if you have any difficulties.
The paper should be between 3500 and 6000 words, in total (this includes references). You should have an Introduction section, where you broadly present the topic and your thesis, as well as the structure of the paper. Then, you should have at least 3 sections where you construct different arguments in favor of your main hypothesis, each section supporting it in a different way. Ideally, you should conclude each section by linking its own body of evidence to the central hypothesis of the paper. In the end, write a conclusions section to tie everything together and make a final statement.
You will submit the paper online (more instructions on that will be available). Type in Times New Roman, 12pt, double-spaced lines. The paper should follow APA style formatting for citations and references at the end (guidelines here).
