This course has been littered with examples of illogical thinking and argumentation. There is a lot of nonsense out there, much of which may rightly be categorized as bullshit, after Frankfurts definition in his work, On Bullshit. It is now your turn to call out some bullshit. After using Frankfurts book to develop a working definition of bullshit, write a paper which makes explicit and applies just what bullshit is with a real-world example of your choosing. Structure your paper as an argument from definition which responds to the question below.
1. What is bullshit? What is an example of bullshit? Why is this an example of bullshit and what are the implications of its being bullshit?

Successful papers must…
-be 5 pages in length;
-be in correct MLA format;
-cite On Bullshit;
-have a Works Cited page in addition to in-text citations;
-have a thesis which is supported by topic sentences and well-developed paragraphs; -answer the questions above fully and respectfully;
-be argumentative, focusing on why the chosen example is bullshit;

Advice
– Each of the questions has questions nested within it. Before you begin writing, unpack
!
the question by separating the sub-questions and answering them.
– Dont begin by writing your introduction paragraph. Instead, you should first draft a working thesis statement, topic sentences, and some textual support. Then and only
then should you worry about your introduction and conclusion paragraphs.
– Do come to office hours, email me, or visit the Writing Center for help with the paper.
– Writing is a process. This means that you probably wont do well if you sit down the
night before this is due and crank something out, start to finish. Instead, break it up into
manageable portions: prewriting, writing, revising, and proofing.
– Spelling and grammar count, so review your writing before submitting it.
