My plan is to compare yourself to a character from The Crucible by Arthur Miller. You may compare your OWN experiences to any character. But, just please keep in mind I am a woman.
The Topic is:
Compare your own experiences to those of one of the characters you have encountered this semester, exploring both similarities and differences. Key to this assignment will be maintaining focus; rather than simply listing numerous similarities and differences between your own experiences and those of the character, you should organize your paper in such a way that you can present a coherent and cohesive argument. Therefore, your introduction should set up the general topic that you will be using as a “lens” through which you will explore your own and the character’s experience; for instance, you might examine the way each of you handles difficult situations, how each of you deals with prejudices you face, how each of you has lost innocence, etc. Then, the last sentence of the introduction should contain your thesis, the central claim that your paper will make. In the body paragraphs about yourself and about the character, you will need to provide ample evidence to support your claims.
