You will write a case study pertaining to a juvenile corrections issue in the Washington, DC, metropolitan area. This case study is an opportunity for you to apply your reading and what you have learned in this course to a real problem in the DC area. The basis of your case study can come from the facts from a recent judicial decision (last 5 years), an issue that your jurisdiction is facing in connection with youth offenders, or a news item pertaining to youth offenders. Here are some examples of cases in recent local news stories that would be appropriate for this assignment:• City cracking down on teen flash mobs• Juvenile detention center still waiting for safer beds• Juvenile detention center has high number of rape and sexual molestation allegations• Relocating juvenile offenders will save state money• Nurse (former employee of correctional facility) condemns treatment of juvenile offenders• City considering teen curfew, but many say it is “overkill”In the introduction, introduce and summarize the case or facts and present them in a few well-organized and logically connected paragraphs. You will then apply what you have learned in this course to propose a course of action appropriate to the context of the case/facts. You must demonstrate critical thinking skills in analyzing, synthesizing, integrating, and drawing conclusions. Support your evaluation and recommendations with evidence. You need a minimum of 8–10 references. The paper must be 6–8 pages. Be sure to use in-text citations. You must integrate a biblical world-view in your proposed course of action. Your paper must have a substantive conclusion that summarizes your key points. Your paper must also have a cover paper and a reference page in APA format (you do not need a running head).
