Take the side that yes gender does matter. I have always thought that gender matters, even before the class started Some people believe that talking about gender encourages divisiveness. They feel we
should avoid labeling people by gender because labels are arbitrary and harmful. Others
believe we must acknowledge the pervasiveness of gender and its consequences in our
culture so we can address the divisiveness, encourage equality, and eliminate harmful
effects of stereotyping, discrimination, and even violence.
In this paper, take a position that gender does or does not matter. Create a reasoned
argument based on what youve read in your textbook and your research from at least
three other sources. Your sources may be personal interviews with experts on the topic
of gender (or some aspect of it) or academic articles.
State your thesis (gender does or does not matter) in the first paragraph of your paper,
and then spend the rest of it supporting your position. Explain how you came to this
position. Did you feel this way before you began the course? Have your beliefs on this
matter changed as a result of the course?
Include an MLA-style Works Cited list at the end of your paper, and use MLA style for
your in-text citations. Gendered Lives text book must be one of your sources, and you must

1,000-1,200 words (approximately 4-5 pages) in length. In MS Word, the word count
