Writing Prompt:
In a Research Essay of 5-8 pages, identify a theme in the film Get Out and analyze that theme using symbols, scenes, dialogue, songs, and/or other elements from the film.
Remember that your introduction must present an argument in its thesis. Remember also that your body paragraphs will work to prove that thesis and that they should be written according to the 3I structure. Lastly, make sure that your conclusion accomplishes three objectives: 1. Your conclusion should rearticulate your thesis. 2. Your conclusion should emphasize the points you have made in your body paragraphs. 3. Your conclusion should answer the so what question.
This final assignment requires you to incorporate two secondary sources in the essay. These sources must be academic in nature. You may use quotations from academic books, journal articles, and chapters in edited volumes. You may also use articles written from news outlets such as CNN, MSNBC, Fox News, The Huffington Post, The Washington Post, etc.
No block quotations from the film or the secondary sources should appear in this essay.
Work to ensure that you correctly structure each part of your paper (introduction, body paragraphs, conclusion, and works Cited page).
