Teaching Inventory

The teaching inventory (attached) is a set of diagnostic statements about your teaching and your responses will be closely aligned to your teaching philosophy. I would encourage you to review the inventory now to gauge where you are today and then compare that to how your thinking has changed (if at all) due to information youve learned via the course readings and participation in course activities. The teaching inventory (attached) must include an evaluation and revision of your initial philosophy of teaching. Evaluate you philosophy statement. (Problem Assignment 1) using the following questions: 1. How does your statement demonstrate to the reader your teaching philosophy? 2. Does your approach to teaching show good judgment, careful planning or flexibility when appropriate? 3. How does your statement articulate openness to different perspectives? And how will you demonstrate this? 4. Does your statement show awareness of disciplinary conventions/expectations? 5. How are these ideas consistent with the way you will construct your hypothetical course? Revise your philosophy statement as necessary and include in the portfolio.
